Rob is a Solicitor and one of three founding Partners at Instalaw.

He has worked in the areas of Prison law and Criminal law since 2005.

He regularly deals with the most serious cases at hearings before the Parole Board. Some of the cases that Rob has been involved in have attracted local and national media attention.

He is instructed by clients across the entire country and has a loyal following from IPP and Life Sentence Prisoners.

In addition to his day to day role, Rob is also a prison law supervisor and is responsible for ensuring that the work of others meets the expected standards.

He regularly contributes to the national prison newspaper ‘Jail Mail’ with monthly articles and is a member of the Association of Prison Lawyers.

Rob is also a ‘Duty’ qualified criminal law advocate and authorised to represent clients at the police station and during court proceedings.

Rob can deal with private motoring cases and has a proven track record of assisting clients to keep their driving license following prosecution.

Rob now accepts instruction in relation to other areas involving inmates and issues within the prison estate including:

  • Unlawful detention claims
  • Minor personal injury actions
  • Breaches of DPA / GDPR claims
